Michael Boehle
Owner & Director
At MB Surf, Coach Boehle has coached across multiple age groups, helping guide teams to three Open Division Bronze Medals and several top-five finishes at the Junior Olympics. His coaching philosophy blends elite performance with player development and integrity. One of the most accomplished volleyball coaches in Southern California, Coach Boehle has led Loyola High School to seven CIF Division I Championships, six CIF SoCal Regional titles, and 4 National Championships, including AVCA, MaxPreps, and VolleyballMag.com titles. He was named AVCA National Coach of the Year in 2023 and 2024, California State Coach of the Year twice, and CIF Coach of the Year 8 times. Coach Boehle was inducted into the Southern California Indoor Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2024. Before coaching, Coach Boehle was an AVP touring pro (1988–1994), ranked Top 32 in the World, and a Laguna Beach Open Champion. He remains a foundational figure in youth and high school volleyball, known for excellence, leadership, and passion for the game.

Tim Walmer
Jr. High Director
Since 2012, Tim has coached across nearly every age group at MB Surf, leading teams to multiple top-10 national finishes and earning two Junior Olympic Bronze Medals. His leadership at the junior high level is foundational to the club’s success in developing skilled, confident young athletes. A standout setter at San Diego State and Long Beach State, Tim was named a Volleyball Magazine Honorable Mention All-American in 1983. He went on to compete professionally for 18 years on the AVP, FIVB, and NORCECA tours, reaching a Top 10 world ranking and earning eight career pro wins. Tim’s coaching career includes stints at Loyola High School (helping lead them to a 1st-place finish in 1986) and as an assistant at Loyola Marymount University. Off the court, he dedicated 25 years to working as a Special Education teacher and has been a devoted husband and father for over two decades. With a coaching philosophy grounded in fundamentals, teamwork, and character, Tim continues to shape the next generation of volleyball talent at MB Surf.

Larry Rojas
Chief Administrative Officer
Larry brings over a decade of leadership to MB Surf as the club’s Chief Administrative Officer, helping guide its operations, culture, and long-term growth. He has also earned recognition as a coach, leading MB Surf’s 16s and 17s Open Division teams to Junior Olympic Bronze Medals. His coaching career spans both boys’ and girls’ programs, including nearly a decade at Loyola High School as the Boys Freshman Head Coach and JV Assistant, and coaching roles at Junipero Serra High School and Beach Cities Volleyball Club. Known for his organized, player-focused approach, Larry continues to be a key figure in shaping the MB Surf experience both on and off the court.

Davis Boehle
Asst. Director
Davis Boehle, the assistant director of MB Surf Volleyball Club, brings a wealth of experience and success to the club. A standout athlete at Loyola High School, Davis helped lead his team to the 2016 CIF Division I Championship and was named a High School First Team All-American the same year. He earned recognition as an All-CIF selection, Loyola’s Offensive MVP, and a two-time All-Mission League honoree. His club career with MB Surf was equally impressive, culminating in a bronze medal finish in the 18's Open Division at the 2016 Junior Olympics. He continued his volleyball journey as a member of the UCSB Men’s Volleyball Team, further deepening his experience in the sport.
